1. University of Pennsylvania: ESG & Climate Change

The University of Pennsylvania offers a 7-hour, self-paced course on ESG & Climate Change. The four modules offer an introduction to sustainability and climate risk and opportunity; public and private governance to address climate change goals; building resilience through creative private solutions; and product stewardship and a look at the concept of the circular economy.

2. Terra.do

The mission of Terra.do is to get 100 million people working on climate by 2030. To make that happen, they provide free courses on a variety of subjects to do with ESG, as well as paid certificate courses, networking events, and job boards.

3. SDG Academy

SDG Academy curates courses from leading experts on climate change. Specific tracks offer a focus on zero hunger, gender equality, and sustainable energy. Courses are both self- and instructor-paced to fit every schedule and commitment level.

4. Introduction to Systems Thinking for Sustainability & SiD

Understanding Systems Thinking is a crucial part of any sustainability education. Students are taken through the basics of the concept as applied to sustainability with an eye toward application, with a goal of growing impact.

5. United Nations Systems Staff College

The UN provides courses on a wide range of subjects related to ESG. From the peace and security of women to sustainable development and everything in between, simply click the filters to find courses on every aspect of sustainability as it relates to topics in Environment, Social, and Governance.

6. LinkedIn’s Sustainability Resource Hub

Among its many learning resources, LinkedIn offers courses to help professionals and organizations “prepare for the green transition.” From gaining stakeholder buy-in to measuring carbon footprint to identifying influencers in the space to follow, the hub is a unique combination of resources and networking.

7. University of Bergen’s Causes of Climate Change

If you’re looking for a little bit of a deeper dive into the complexities of climate change, this course from the University of Bergen aims to provide a richer understanding of the physical processes governing climate change.

8. Harvard University’s Health Effects of Climate Change

Climate change is already having a large effect on human health. This course, created with support from the Harvard Global Health Institute, approaches the subject through a public health lens, with a focus on mitigation. It can be audited for free and there is a certificate available for a fee.
